This is a day time train having only sitting accommodation and is not suitable for long journeys such as Mumbai-Porbandar. There is the Intercity Express from Mumbai to Surat and then from Surat to Jamnagar which can be used for those travelling to Rajkot.

Who says Sau Mail is not packed. Except 2-3 months of monsoon (which is true for all trains in india) there is no availability in this train. Since many decades there are only 2 trains between Jamnagar-Rajkot-Mumbai. Sau Exp is 3rd class fast passenger. And if not so pack why does WR have to run holiday spl between hapa-mumbai and okha-mumbai. I tkink you have not tavelled any time in Sau exp. It takes more than 19 hr to reach mumbai from rajkot and 24 hrs from Porbandar

I know it has day time sitting faciilty. It can be converted to Superfast exp with SL, 3AC, 2AC, GEN composition to depart mumbai in evening and arrive porbandar around 11 am

kutty it is not my personal wishes. you from south india cannot understand the underlying problem. I myself have seen people from Sau Janta & Sau Mail get down at Rajkot and catch bus from Rajkot to Porbandar. No one prefers Mumbai-Porbandar Sau Exp which runs as fast passenger
