Hyderabad - Mumbai route lacks convenience for passengers who want to take an overnight journey between the two cities. The Hussain Sagar from Hyderabad starts in the mid-afternoon at 2.50 pm to reach Mumbai very early at 4.55 am, and the Hyd- Mumbai express starts at 10 pm and reaches Mumbai in the afternoon at 1 pm.

More convenient times for the Hussain Sagar express would be to start at 6 pm in the evening and reach Mumbai by 7 am, after curtailing unwanted stops (Sedam, Chittapur, Shabad, Khandala, etc.) and speeding up the train by 1 hour.

Hyderabad - Mumbai Express -

Similarly, the Hyd - Mumbai express can start at 8 pm and reach Mumbai by 9 am.

The bi-weekly Duronto from LTT to Secunderabad starts quite late, though it covers the distance in 12 hours at unearthly hours of 11 pm to 11 am. Instead of that, the train can start from both ends at 7 pm and reach at 7 am. This would increase patronage and should be made a daily train by giving a dedicated 2 rakes for this sector.
