It was introduced as BBS palasa express in 1990's later extended to SKLM VZM then to VSKP with PM at BBS for almost 20yrs with the same rake size of 8-9 coaches. When Vskp koraput intercity was introduced PM shifted to Vskp.

When you have a question about Vskp BBs intercity you should have been confused or thought of Janmabhoomi exp running with 24 coaches with 3 ACC not yet LHBfied. The process of LHB fication of Janmabhoomi is in rake formation and about Vskp BBS there is not demand for AC travel inbetween and as the rake is small, and list of trains to be LHBfied is long for many intercity which are famous in many other zones.

You should have got into NoN AC coach of GS to ascertain the demand. People in Orissa travel in GS rather then reserved booking Regarding increase of coaches and timings it is menat for step motherly treatment by giving prime slots to all long distance trains and put in an inconvenient slot to end destination. Ideal time to leave BBS is 600 to reach Vskp at 1315 but delayed to make way for long distance trains which was 530 on introduction and return 1415 BBs 2130. ECOR is all about Puri BBS and north Orissa and not South Orissa and Vskp Division when running train to east.

Yes, even the rake is small. And the problem with other trains is that their 2S or even SL is very crowded since they don't originate from VSKP. And yes, even the timings of InterCity could have been more convenient. There is not even a Shatabdi or a Jan Shatabdi between VSKP and BBS actually while the other stretches of HWH MAS are served by Jan Shatabdi (MAS-BZA and BBS-HWH)
