Suri~ 7928 blog postsThis train 11449 JBP-SVDK looks good, runs good but I am unable to understand the logic behind providing this train 5 halts within Delhi NCR itself? If we see, then for nearly 2 hours this train just stays in NCR region only with 2 elongated halts at NZM (20min) and NDLS (30min), plus small EMU stations halt like TKD, SSB and even another halt at Delhi Kishanganj.
What seriously is Railways trying to prove by wasting so much time here?
Whereas in return journey 11450, it has only 2 minutes halt at...

This is because it shares a slot with Andaman/Himsagar/Navyug expresses between NDLS and JAT. You can see that all the above mentioned trains too have long halts in the Delhi area.
This is a relic from the past. Earlier, all these trains going to JAT were used for military personnel. In addition, due to single line sections on the route, NR preferred to run all the trains on a similar slot.
They may block a platform for a long time, but then running all 5 trains (Andaman, Himsagar, Kota-SVDK, Navyug and JBP-SVDK)...
