Yesterday (23:15) 12577/Bagmati Superfast Express (PT) | BZA/Vijayawada Junction (10 PFs) | SPJ/WAP-7/37094

A couple of similarities be noted about this accident:
1. Last year on the same day and around same time, NorthEast Express derailed at Raghunathpur station. The train was full LHB and its coaches toppled in similar manner as Bagmati
2. One of the reasons of collision is said to be signal failure. Earlier, Kanchanjungha express collided with goods train in similar manner and the reason was said to be signal failure. Likewise, Coromandel Express rammed to a goods train standing on loop line couple of years back.

The goods wagon on main line are part of accident relief van.They are used for carrying critical restoration equipments.The train went into loop line and the same is visible in the datalogger record.

I think if a technology is being advertised as fool-proof, and has failed more than twice in a span of a year, causing two major accidents in a similar fashion.
Perhaps it's time to re-look into the implementation of the said technology, or work on betterment of it. Rather than assuring people it's fool-proof and calling it a day.

Wonder what had IR learned from the Coromandel incident! Bagmati rammed into the freight on the same grounds as Coromandel in BLS.
