WAP-5 is mentioned as the 'Mislink' by an official site 29-Jun-17 12924 Dir 42 CR NGP 30105 BRC WAP5 3-Phase IB, BRC, Apr 28 2017 Miscellaneous (NGP-INDB, load 22B) 32" loss on run between Kalmeswar-Metpanjra & 15" Narkher-Pandurna for wheel slipping with LSP glowing and speed reduced due to gradient 1:65 with 3 degree curve and rainy weather. As per JPO Banker to be provided Ex.TEO during rainy weather. No loco trouble. Being refuted. IB-28.04.17, TI/PA-26.06.17. Section major: NGP-AMF. (WAP4/BRC link, Mislink by WR) 0 As per LP, due to rain in section between KOHL-SNKB-MER (having gradients 1:150 and 1:160) with curvatures wheel slipping occurred and speed dropped gradually up to 18-20 kmph, hence took extra time. Due to wheel slipping, tractive effort reduced and bogiemeter reading comes down to 100-105 KN. As per JPO... more...
Banker to be provided for trains 18 B and above in ghat section of NGP division during monsoon season.
That would make sense. The other locos are heavy enough to provide necessary braking power, while the lighter WAP5 would always need the added precaution. But it's surprising that they are letting such long trains descend on a 1:37 gradient without brakers! That's rather close to the line! The reason for switching to P7 for SKD and NGP Duronto were the compressor constraints in the conventional locos I suppose.
right. Both WAP-5 and WAP-7 are suitable locos for Hybrid LHB while WAP4 is not (its needs to be upgraded). Further more, The Hybrid LHB Duronto via WR gets BRC/TKD WAP5/7 while those via CR get WAP7 only.

12924 Nagpur Indore express with an upgraded link for first time . BRC WAP5 #30077 for the first time pulls out Nagpur Indore express out of Nagpur, the train gets BRC WAP4e, but on that day it got WAP-5. On Youtube!
Indeed it is a record setting blog primarily due to the monumentous efforts of yourself and WAP-5 (HE WHO MUST NOT BE NAMED :D)! And through it has indeed faced the ire of a lot of members, here we still are :D This blog is a fond remembrance of a time when such meaningful discussions were commonplace occurences in IRI :)
Hahaha true that, some meaningful apart from Hello Hi Yes No type blog count shooting blogging. Anyways such isn't appreciated on IRI since the people find this blog as a competition to their own, but in reality we were some people trying to discuss something we loved, WAP5.
