Mour Dhwaj - Many times I have wondered what is the significance of this name given to this train. I even tried to deduce it from the literal meaning Mour - Peacock and Dhwaj - Flag. But as you can see, we can't really know what is the meaning of this.
This Sunday, while visiting The temple of Mata Chintpurni Ji, I was reading the posters on the walls and read a familiar name, 'Mour Dhwaj'. The whole story was written there along with the pictures, unfortunately I couldn't click a photo but here is the story in brief -

thought that he is the biggest devotee of Lord Krishna, but Krishna said that there are other great devotees of him. So, after the war of Mahabharata was over, Lord Krishna told Arjuna that he has a devotee who is greater than him and he is King 'Mour Dhwaj'. Lord Krishna took the disguise of a Priest and reached to the king, and told him that his lion, who is a canibal, is hungry. The whole story can be read here - click here

That is the only incidence of a name Mour Dhwaj I can find, I am not sure, but it can be the reason behind the name of this train.

situation is further exacerbated by the diversion of road traffic on these routes due to the Kanwar Yatra, leading to increased problems. This disruption on the Bareilly-Delhi and Dehradun-Lucknow routes will continue till the first week of August. The cancellation and diversion of a large number of trains has led to an increase in the demand for roadways buses. On Sunday, passengers had to pay between 17 and 32 rupees extra due to the diversion of vehicles on the Bareilly-Badaun-Mathura, Bareilly-Moradabad-Delhi, and Bareilly-Moradabad-Haridwar routes. Sunday ko Bareilly-Badaun-Mathura, Bareilly-Moradabad-Delhi aur Bareilly-Moradabad-Haridwar routes pe vehicles divert hone ki wajah se passengers ko 17 se 32 rupees zyada fare dena pada. Delhi aur Lucknow route pe daily commute karne waale log zyada pareshani mein hain.
