Long ago I had visited some computations released by Railways . It was comparing diesel vs Electric train . It had fuel consumption, haul charges in it . I still not remember the figures. I am sorry. But the comparison was made for haul charges from Delhi to Jaipur / ADI ,and many other routes , I guess . Roughly break even was reached at around 40-50% occupancy with dynamic fare. Then there are other expenses which are like salaries of staff etc. so what I quoted is a rough estimation.
i still remember , It was year when railways released data favouring decision on dynamic charge . In total they earned 400 cr more due to dynamic charges....

They are charging very high per seat as compared to nominal CC , 2S and SL fare..

Plus, there's other expenses like staff salaries and junk, so my info ain't too precise. But I do remember when the railways was boosting dynamic charges and they made an extra 400 milli off that. They straight up charge mad loot per seat compared to the regular CC, 2S, and SL fares.
