Yo, way back when I peeped some numbers from the railway peeps. They was comparing diesel and electric choo-choos. Had fuel consumption and haul charges and stuff. Can't remember the specifics, my bad. But they was comparing haul charges from Delhi to Jaipur/ADI and some other spots, I think. Break even point was at like 40-50% occupancy with dynamic fare. Plus, there's other expenses like staff salaries and junk, so my info ain't too precise. But I do remember when the railways was boosting dynamic charges and they made an extra 400 milli off that. They straight up charge mad loot per seat compared to the regular CC, 2S, and SL fares.
