This includes cancelling three pairs and changing the operation schedule for four pairs of trains originating from and passing through Muzaffarpur. Specific changes include the Kashi Vishwanath Express (15127-28) running only twice a week until March 2024, the Kathgodam-Delhi Express (15036-35) operating three days a week, the Ramnagar-Moradabad-Ramnagar Express (25036-35) operating three days a week, the Lalgarh-Dibrugarh Avadh Assam Express (15909-10) running only once a week, and the Janta Express (15119-20) canceled for three days a week from December to February 2024.

Other trains like the Garib Rath Express (12204), Ayodhya Express (14206), Shramjeevi Express (12392), Padmavat Express (14208), Malda Town Express (14004), Suheldev Express (22420), Lucknow Mail (12232), Amritsar-Howrah Express (13006), Kashi Vishwanath Express (15128), Himgiri Express (14524), Ganga-Satluj Express (13308), Kolkata Express (13152), and Janata Express (15120) also delayed passengers. Due to the disruption, many passengers spent the night at the station. Thirteen trains bound for Lucknow via Bareilly were diverted due to the derailment. The Chief Commercial Inspector, Rakesh Singh, confirmed that train services on the Delhi-Lucknow route have returned to normal.
