The USBRL project is a prestigious railway project aimed at connecting Srinagar to the railway network. Currently, 80% of the work on the project has been completed. A section of the line between Banihal and Khari has already been trial-run, and the overhead line is expected to be completed by February 5th, after which the line will be operational up to Khari. The world's highest rail bridge, located at Anji in Reasi, is also part of the USBRL project. The project also includes several tunnels currently under construction in Reasi and Ramban. The line is expected to be inaugurated before the Lok Sabha elections, allowing for easier access to Srinagar from Jammu.
