KR does not have stabling lines or watering facility to terminate the trains in these intermediate stations.

They will need to run upto MAO/VSG which is possible but it would consume slots which could be better used for new trains from MAQ beyond MAO.

good number of Kerala trains are currently halting at Byndoor, Kundapura, Murdeshwar etc.

PM of one of Ernad/Parasuram needs to be shifted to TVC division freeing up MAQ CDO for new trains.

A valid proposal, however one big constraint in having trains extended to these smaller stations would mean railways having to deploy extra staff in these stations just for the purpose of cleaning and maintenance only for 1 train. Similarly the electrical wing will keep highlighting loco utilisation as another point. New set of loco pilots will have to man the train in return direction so that will be Xtra cost. They will have to travel from bigger stations like MAQ to these stns and will have to be provided with some allowance. I do recollect one rail staff mentioning this that cost, utilisation of staff are all being looked at very closely by railways whenever such extensions are proposed. These are valid suggestions though

KR has to develop it's expertise in rake maintenance. Their expertise is limited just to lay tracks and running trains. None of KR stations have coach maintenance facilities. Else close down KR and merge Thokur Roha into 2 one portion to SWR and a other to CR.
As of now, SMVB MRDW is one train terminating at MRDW. If Ernad and CBE ICE also goes there, then 3 trains are there. Some kind of RSA can be planned if Hubli / Belgaum side trains also come to MRDW.

has any problems, Udupi can definitely be a mini terminal for many trains.
Instead of blaming SR MAQ or SWR for not running enough trains, KR should be asked to take lead

Kerala got huge benefits from Konkan Railway. They gave 6% funding.
Karnataka gave double that of Kerala. What benefits they got? Just compare.
Also, till date, there is no proper train connecting big Tamilnadu towns to Karnataka west coast (Mangalore to Madgaon). Be it Chennai, Trichy, Madurai, Salem, Erode, Coimbatore or Pondicherry. Zero link with Udupi Kundapura Murudeshawar Kumta Karwar etc. 🤔

Instead of keeping the trains on hold at odd stations, atleast on these days Netravathi and Mangala can go to MAQ and wait there for 30 to 45 minutes.
