Do all know that Metro Railways charges fares differently in all cities . Kolkata metro is cheapest in the country.
And DMRC had kept the fare 21 rupees between Dilshad Garden and New Bus Stand...its on the higher side...
kolkata metro is only metro which is under IR .

This is because Kolkata Metro is under Indian Railways and heavily subsidized. However the others are separate independent corporate entities and run on commercial lines. Hence the vast difference in fares.
