in new generation IRCTC page there is a check box which mentioned as ""preferred coach ID"".. Can anyone explain whats this in detail...

I got the ticket in the selected coach twice. If not available, ticket will be booked in next coach

I suppose, at the counters this is available long before,
I remember, in January this year, we had booked 18 SL tickets in the same coach from MS to DR boarding at RU in 12164....33 to 38, 41 to 46 and 49 to 54......just by requesting the counter personnel....
