History of the train:
Kaveri Express-named after the famous river "Cauvery" which passes through Mysore region and crosses at Srirangapatna, was first introduced in the late 70's-Early 80's period as a day time train between Mysore and Bangalore in the erstwhile Meter gauge(MG) era between the 2 cities. The train continued its journey even after the MG was converted to Broad gauge and followed this pattern of RSA as Kaveri-Tippu and Chamundi (Bangalore-Mysore) and opposite as Chamundi-Tippu-Kaveri.

Superb and Thanks for Sharing. While for going to Mysore from Chennai I really loved this Train as Timings are very Convenient.
