Trip Report- 16227 Talaguppa Express
As monsoon set in June, my plan went immediately for a family trip to the World famous Jog Falls- On June 30th irctc was logged in to the shock that only 100 tickets were available by the Talaguppa Express on the 14th Of August 2015... Went ahead and booked the tickets immediately for booking for allotment in S1 berths 29 31 and 32..
After booking tickets couldnt wait for the next 45 days to complete. Minutes went like years just as the days approached and I felt that
...
a bullet train had become a passenger train... anyway my aunt family arrived on the D-day having allotmen tin S-1 berths 50, 53, 56 & 64 and all of us went to the railway station reaching same at 10PM. Our regular train 12658 was statione don Pf-1 and giving a glance at it w2ent all the way to PF-10 were our train was expected to arrive as RSA 56234 Pass from Mysore..
12080 from UBL had entered around 2150 and hence the whole crowd blocked the subway as we made our way through to the platform. PF-10 was occupied by the overcrowded 56909/11 hubli-hospet Slip passenger where people saw to it that each and every inch of space on footboard is not spared
At 22:20hrs the boeing accelerated from Pf-10 and sto surprise all sleeper coaches were just occupied by reserved passengers as RPf stationed themselves at enterances blocking everyone- All announcements went silent and no information was given about our incoming pass
Switched on my data and trainenquiry revealed that 56234 had crossed Nayandahalli at around 2225hrs - As usual I went on explaining about the rake to all of my relatives who interestingly listened and asked cross questions too- Mysore pass becoming Talaguppa Express seemed like a magic as WDP-4 20034 pulled in at 2240 hrs onto the overcrowded Pf-10 when my aunt asked" Are everyone waiting for our train only"- i smiled and said of course this is the last train from this section
As passengers got down and everyone rushed, i asked my family members to stay calm as train will tak eminimum 20 mins before leaving. Meantime dad saw and exclaimed- Come All Sleeper coaches were locked this while and now only opened- no none in any of them. Immediately proceeded and boarded the train and as usual I got down saying I will look at the loco- My cousin said"Wait i will also come"- Went along with her and as we crossed F1, she asked for explanation- Went inside and explained the same and said- "You would have seen only loco coupling all this time- Coem and see whats happening here"
Went ahead to the last SLR and there was a huge crowd standing there and my cousin gave a perplexed look- I said just see whats coming- She said coaches!!!- Yes- the remaining coaches of this train with base at SBC namely B2,B1,H1,SE1 & SE2 came in and coupled with the rake as we waited and saw- the crowd just bombarded inside af it it were UR and we went back to our coach as time neared 23:05hrs after the brakes vacuum were tested
At 2315 the boeing gave its horn and proceeded- Now it was my turn to increase the excitement- "who's going to spot my office"" Well within minutes my aunt said- "I spotted"" and well she indeed had- After a customary halt at the Malleshwaram station we proceeded to YPr outer PF-3 as 06543 CBE Express stayed on Pf-1.. KJM Alco blasted into PF-2 with the late running UBL-SBC passenger RSA with BNC-BZA and BZA-UBL pass as the front slip portion also mentioned RSA with Harihar-Kottur Passenger.. As train left YPr, I proceeded to sleep again with a small tip that there was one more coach attachment due at Arasikere from 17301 YPR-DWR Express and My aunt was like ""Too technically interesting"" Went off to sleep
Woke up around 3AM while announcement went on at Arasikere station about the incoming 17302 DWR-MYS Express-RPF came and evicted the UR passengers seated near the door citing UR is empty now major people have got down at Tiptur and locked the doors after doing the needful- We left as soon as the train came in
dhadan dhadan..dhadan dhadan- Bridge sound- it was 05:05AM and we were crossing the Tungabhadra just before shimoga town station.. entered teh station where 60% crowd had got down. We then proceeded with halt at Kumsi and through the lush green Malnad region in the erstwhile MG track which had only a 2 coach Railbus running, we were a complete 22 coacher BG now...Reached the lone platform of anandapuram as the Mysore bound pass with WDP-4 in SHF mode waited on the Non-platform track.. Slowly procedded past the lush green fields curving past and pulled to a halt before Sagar station as the LC remained open- LC was closed soon but the damage was done- When we entered Sagar it was 7:05AM and here the train was 95% empty.. Pulled out at 7:25 and slowly went and stopped on PF-1 of the scenic and calm Talaguppa station at 7:40AM late by 25 mins and we got down to enjoy the beauty of the Malnad region
