Major Changes in Palakkad Station.
1. Direct Entry to new Platform.
2. Length of New Platform is 600m which can accommodate 26 coaches
3. Length of Platform 1 and 2 increased from 650 to 715m, which means this pf will be the 11th lengthiest platform in the world and 7th in India

But i feel the newly constructed PF is not yet connected with the main line (at CBE end) and hence trains coming from CBE side still cant enter the newly built PF
oho.. am not sure about CBE end. I saw pic where it was connected to main line(SRR end).

i saw it on May 30 while travelling in 16526. Then the work on Interlocking was going on. will check again this sunday
ok great. Thanks for the info. Do you have any pics of the new pf and the same connected from SRR end. I tried checking online quite a few of them instead had pics of town railway station !!
New PF was already there for years.. even google map will show the new pf..
