Should waitlisted tickets be stopped by Indian Railways to customers i.e. only confirmed tickets be issued to the customers.

Waiting should be there but upto a limit. e.g. Waitlisted number going upto 500 in some trains and that too during season time makes no sense. Even Railway knows that this would not be cleared. However, such cases only yield revenue to railways and harassment to reserved passengers.
