Hello Prasad Sir. I am a longtime IRI fan. But just became member. I have been following your post everyday. In fact bookmarked them on my browser. Thank you for all the current news and development regarding Karnataka.
I joined especially to ask you a question that's gnawing me and many rail fans of SWR. Hope you have some info. When will KK, Prashanti etc.. on YNK-GTL line get e-locos? Just 4 passenger trains have got so far. What about the rest? Thank you.

As you know SWR does not have e-loco shed. It has to share locos with other zones like SR and SCR. As i understand thro a reliable source the power station near Someshwara station is yet to be charged and rlys are using WFD and SSPN power stations now.I was told to have uniform power supply without voltage problem the someshwara power station has to be ready.Once loco allocation is made by SCR,Prashanti and YPR-KCG train may have AC loco. The locos are also linked just like RSA of passenger trains. In the meanwhile doubling is also going on between YNK-PKD and DMM-GY. Hope more AC loco will haul passenger trains at the earliest.
Thank You Sir for the reply.
Last week my friend said that the line after Yelahanka was not fully charged. I didn't understand what he meant, since 4 passenger trains get E-locos on the line. Also on youtube, we can see some freight trains get e-locos. Now I get what he meant - just enough power for few trains only.
Regarding LSA, I saw 56523 being powered by BRC WAP-4E a couple of times and ET WAP-4 once, I guess SWR has to make do with whatever other zones can spare.
