After 2 hours, you will be treated as without Platform tickets according to railway rules. But, i do not know the fine amount. Experts may comment. YOU may enter the platform say 30 min before the train arrives. See how much the train is late and decide accordingly when to purchase platform ticket.

Genrally people havent checked the time on the PF tickets. Once I entered the station at 15:30hrs and shatabdi arrivd at 17:20hrs and left at 17:35hrs. When I came out it was 17:40 but gate keeper didnt check(Or because it was only 10 minutes)
