Ranchi to Kota, Exam on sunday (9 am) in fog season.
Note: Exam dates not released but would probably be in Dec - jan , i.e. peak of fog season.
So, Which option would be best citing delays due to fog expected?

See, exam dates have not arrived yet. Its just a probability that the exam would now be held in Dec - Jan ( high probability now since vendor/ exam organiser will be selected by 8 nov). I put sunday here as hypothetical day of exam. By this I got an idea of which route to take in the fog affected conditions.
If date of exam is not fixed, hte -bsp -ngp route qith interchange at ngp is one more option , you can catch coimbatore/ngp -jaipur or tambaram bgkt hs etc from ngp
Oh great then. Do consider SHM UDZ as your first choice. It'll give a perfect run till KMZ at least, and has got LHB rakes as well.
Maybe you shouldn't forget SHM JP Special as well, on the same timings as above. Probably, it'll get an extension for Winter holidays.
