Yes. Executive class and AC first class are same. AC chair car seats are cheaper as compared to EC which has similar seating arrangement as AC chair car, but with bigger and more comfortable seats and more leg space.
Executive chair car is present only in shatabdi type trains and have 2+2 seating arrangement as against 2+3 seats in normal AC chair car. AC chair car is seating arrangement found in day trains and some garib raths-they have 3+3 seating accommodation. Executive chair car(EC) and AC chair car(C) complete seating arrangements whereas AC first class(1A) is berth arrangement where general cabins have 4 berths(2LB, 2UB) and coupe have just 2 berths.
