The South Western Railway is unable to commence work on two new railway lines that would have reduced railroad distance between important cities in the State,...
We demand more rail links. However in Karnataka getting land for rlys has become a problem, because of higher compensation demand by farmers. Recently work on Mysore-Blore DL work was held up by protest by farmers and Kotturu-Harihar line is delayed badly because farmers filed legal cases for more compensation. In this situation Karnataka rly network may not increase
Karnataka State government actively participate in Railway project by contributing 50% FUNDS.Karnataka State may form Land Bank and which purchase lands in any where and SWAP that land to the needy Railway project during acquisition from FARMERS/LAND OWNERS . Farmers /Land owners may swap additional 10 TO 20 % COST OF LAND from their choice from the Karnataka Land Bank .In this swap compulsory land acquisition may be done since Land Owners get additional 10 to 20 % .Then delay in Railway Project may be avoided.Karnataka Land bank should hold lands/plots in all the Taluks/City area so as the Land owner swap to their choice of Taluks /City area.
instead of reducing distance by 30km, if existing lines are doubled and electrified, it will help in running faster and more trains. karnataka needs to seriously double more tracks. it is a shame that we have such terrible rail infrastructure as compared to other southern states
