KRCL blocks the new train from Bengaluru to GoaKonkan Railway Corporation Ltd (KRCL), headquartered in Navi Mumbai, appears to have blocked the introduction of a new...
SWR is known for serving other zones. So Gulbarga in SCR would be beneficial for Gulbarga. Also, if SCR is given this area, rearrangement of area from Khanapur to Gulbarga to Guntakal in a single zone is possible. Karnataka need not get one more zone SCoR. After Hotgi upto GTL in a single division and zone
It's known fact that SWR only cares about freight revenue from VSG that's why they always refused to start new trains from VSG. Now with the new MoSR things have changed for better in VSG favour. But here in the case of ypr vsg via Udupi it's KRCL who played dirty games.
There should be ultimatum. Karnataka contributed more than Kerala for construction of KR. But gets no benefits. All Konkan trains are going to Kerala only. One should demand how many trains KR can run. If not possible, please attach Karwar division to SWR. Similarly Ratnagiri division to CR. One zone less is 1000 times better. Then, SWR can dictate terms of running trains in Karnataka.
KR cannot block trains saying we don't have rails to run kar. trains. They shouldn't have agreed running Kerala, Goa and Maharashtra trains indiscriminately without thinking about needs of Coastal kar. Even the Karwar div. is a namesake div. Madgaon is better developed than Karwar. How can divisional HQ not even have pitlines or other maintenance facilities ? I agree SWR has always neglected passenger services. But current MoSR and few politicians are doing good job in improving rail network in Karnataka.

Mangaloru Junction Mumbai CSMT daily expresses have to be extended to Bengaloru city via Hassan and Arisikere ,since tilldate no trains are operated from Mumbai to Bengaloru via entire konkan route even though Karnataka contributes maximum share in Konkan Railways. No konkan additional trains are possible due to single non electrified Konkan track,so requested to extend the existing trains to Bengaloru. Moreover ,Mumbai CSMT Madgoan Konkan Kanya daily expresses have to be extended to Bengaloru via Londa and Hubbali. So as interior Karnataka state gets two additional trains... more...
Its a good news that one more train is to connect "Coastal Belt to Mainland", however overall time taken is too high [16/17 hrs] , avg speed will be around 65 kmph i guess. Anyways still a welcome move.

Feb 12 2020 (18:01) The amalgamation bifurcation of trains (Kannur/Karwar) can be avoided There should not be PF problem at MAQ as these trains are running already with PF availablity
The amalgamation bifurcation of trains (Kannur/Karwar) can be avoided. One daily train running with 4 different numbers in two routes with different TT on different days!!???!!. After reaching MAQ the train occupies PF for hours for nothing. I have a suggestion: Split the combined train to 2 trains. Let SR operate Kannur portion via Kunigal, MAQ and let SWR operate Karwar portion via Mysore, MAQ. There should not be PF problem at MAQ as these trains are running already with PF availablity. If... more...
SWR train taking longer time, run as a train from Mysore to VSG via Konkan.
It takes 3 minutes from Padil to MAJN, 30 minutes for loco reversal, refueling, crew change, and another 3 minutes for MAJN-Padil towards Thokur. This 2 hours thing is an eye wash. Now this train will face horrendous delays if the lines at Padil are occupied by freights(which they are most of the time).
Though it takes 45 minutes for entry and exit from MAJN, SR PGT will not give any preference for the train. When a new daily train is going to run, all freight train movements can be planned accordingly. Atleast let one proper faster train from coast to capital.
KR can be given the stretch from Thokur to subrahmanya road. Then one can see the difference. Without any major cities, KR cannot survive. Dependence on CR and SWR create problems. Thereby SR PGT problems can be circumvented.
The demand for a superfast dedicated train between Bengaluru and Karwar will become reality 13 years after resumption of passenger train services between the mainland and...
