- Hazy TB captured in rush for boarding since the train for places only 15 mins before departure

Pic 4 - Traversing the beautiful curve in the Chunar Sonbhadra section

Pic 5,6,7 - Somehow existing Sonbhadra stations and it's crazy platform. People were parking their cars exactly in front of the coaches where there relatives where getting down from

Pic 8,9 - Standing at Chopan. Look at the condition of the platform of an important junction of ECR Dhanbad Division

Pic 10,11,12 - Renukut arrival delayed by 15 mins. This train has improved it punctuality to such an extent that it is now being prioritised over Rnc Rajdhani for people of Singrauli Sonbhadra region

No I couldn't see....the situation is very bad. From what I have heard, if you are coming to board Ranchi rajdhani, you will have to wait on the over bridge rather than on platform because they announce the platform for the train 15 mins before arrival

Agree:💯 _/\_:That's y we have Hide option Great Agree Agree Agree:Very true Agree:100% Agree Agree Agree Agree Agree Great Agree
In recent days I've seen unhealthy obsession of members with trains and stations.

For example the Vikramshila guy, he left the site over a stoppage rumor. The Malda guy, he's inconsolable after Farakka went to BLGT. The Ara, Patna and Sasaram guys, they think people are jealous of a city they probably won't even visit. The Kakinada and Khammam guys, they went on abusing other cities. Or the anti Vande Bharat guy, leaving no stone unturned to create controversy.
...

At the end of the day, trains are just a transport medium. They'll get extended if railways sees the feasibility or even if strong politics is involved.

Trains aren't some status symbol, regular people don't even care if they're sitting in some random special or a named train as long as it takes them to their destinations.

You can get a thousand trains, or maybe get none e.g. Rajgir area, but will that change what the city has to offer? Or what is the potential of that city? Or what are the living standards of people in that city? No.

As I've commented earlier, trains aren't life. Being a fan is okay, but making them a matter of life or ego is equally bad.

Hope people understand this and indulge in constructive discussions. Many older members have already left this site, due to the undue politics and controversies. If that keeps happening all that will remain is a fish market with no knowledgeable source in sight.

Politics has destroyed IR itself and is in turn encouraging some politically motivated souls to destroy this useful forum also. While arguing some members tend to forget that this forum could be best used for sharing their experiences, knowledge and information above all with fellow members and common public instead of bending unrightfully forward to justify their demands or ideas. It's this uniqueness that placed this forum above others for many years but is slowly deteriorating due to lack of interest shown by senior members owing to many reasons. Hope there is sound recovery coming soon from stores for this.

I've been following this forum since 2015-16 I think, but never joined it. The everywhere vs NWR argument of 2020-21 was the first argument with political hues that I saw here.

Recently I was having a discussion on TeamBHP about online forums dying in India, due to no moderation. I was surprised to see someone mentioned how they stopped visiting IRI due to the same reason. The same reason IRFCA have stopped adding new members directly.
...

Even senior members can't control the mindless 'free-internet' public here, who only contribute here by twitter like controversial posts. I still think that they assume this site is run by IR and their trash talks would make the IR listen to them.

I see you've tagged Utkarsh, but I think he deleted his ID or something because after last week's ECR vs NCR debate, I'm unable to find his original ID.

Edit- in the meanwhile did he delete his other ID, too? As even that is being displayed as guest here.

Great Great Great Great Great Great Great Great Great:Spectacular!! 💎💎💎 Great:Amazing Great:..
Meter Gauge Chronicles. A journey in one of the last remaining mainline MG routes.

1. BRK-MLN MG Express being shunted on PF-1 of Bahraich. Meanwhile GD-BRK DEMU in background in background preparing for it's return journey.

2.
...
Machine, man and nature. Our train departing from the laidback settings of Manjhara Poorab.

3. Daily life and the daily commuters of the train. Most of the travellers boarded to reach their daily jobs in Risiya. Teachers, shopkeepers, nurses, policeman, peons, everyone on the train seemed to know each other.

4. A curious child looking out of the window. He kept asking his father about everything he saw. That's how I became a railfan, too.

5. Lines meeting and going deep into the Katarniaghat wildlife sanctuary.

6, 7. Traversing through the Dudhwa national park.

8. Approaching the mighty Ghaghra barrage. It was quite scary sitting on the gate and recording while the river churned below.

9. A semaphore signal and a railway employee returning after setting the signal to Stop.

10. That one's obvious. The little devil snatched my samosa and hid below the train.

11. Our pairing train going back to Bahraich, running back into the Katarniaghat sanctuary after emerging from Dudhwa.

12. A busy Nanpara Junction bustling with activity. Train halted here for almost an hour. You can go out and buy things to eat. Or you can buy bread-pakoras or samosas being freshly made on the PF. The huge old tree gives the feels of old times and may remind you of Malgudi Days.

13. The said bread-pakora. Along with the samosa it was quite delicious, although a bit oily to my liking.

14. A IZN YDM-4 stands tall at it's base, Mailani.

15. The MG yard of Mailani. You can spot a wide variety of YDM-4s, GS and Vistadome tourist coaches here. Along with a few freight vans and brake vans.

16. Located a few meters away from the station, beyond the yard is the loco maintenance shed of Mailani, most probably managed by IZN.

17. Mailani yard with all the MG coaches and locos with the coaching depot visible in the background.

18. Where MG meets electrified BG. BRK-MLN MG Express on PF-3 while my next connecting train MLN-GKP Express standing on PF-1.

I did this journey on 31/06/2022. And except LKO-GD, the entire LKO-MLN-LJN journey was on a station bought general ticket. The train was clean, washrooms were clean and were fully functional. Although same can't be said for the electrical elements.

I was also quite surprised that people boarding the train from the stations mid-jungle, too traveled with valid tickets. They were helpful and interacting with them, learning about their slow lives in remote areas was an experience in itself.

Kumud.

Useful:Thank you for the information 😊 Useful
Earlier, the Gonda-05371-05355-Mailani-15010-Lucknow used to be the most effective chain, with all the trains in sync and wait times less than half an hour.

Now, with the gauge conversion, it's quite hectic. You should either reach Gonda, take a UP Roadways or auto to Nanpara, and then continue further using the same chain.

Or,
...

reach Mailani by some early morning train, take the train to Nanpara, deboard there, take a UP roadways or auto to Bahraich. Take the evening DEMU to Gonda and carry on further.

Or, just take the Tourist special to Bichhia, do a round trip back to Mailani, and take the 15010 to LJN. But this won't take you through the whole route and will be full of unmannered 'tourists'.

Please keep in mind that the journey is slow, and after the initial excitement wears off, it gets boring after the jungle ends if you're traveling solo. There is no network in the national park areas. And except for Nanpara I couldn't find anything to eat.

Thankyou :)

No, they won't convert it. It'd be preserved as a heritage route from Mailani to Nanpara. There would probably be a new BG alignment bypassing both the wildlife sanctuaries, from Nanpara to Mailani.
