The Taj Express was originally introduced so that passengers can go from NDLS to Agra and see the Taj Mahal and/or return on the same day. However, with time, faster trains with lesser stoppages became more preferable alternatives and Gatimaan is the fastest choice for this purpose. Hence, no wonder, that many foreigners also board this train for AGC.

Two TBs of Taj Express. It was quite full when I saw it. It had arrived more or less full from NDLS and rest got adjusted from here. Even the AC coaches had few standing pax here and there. Whilst normal coaches had many pax standing in the vestibule and even all along the coach [reminiscent of Gomti Express on NDLS-LKO route].
