Howrah-Digha Vande Bharat is expected to get RB Approval soon. As per internal news it will get RB Approved. Soon tourists to Digha will get VB experience.

A VB for such a short distance. Except for the weekends, is to going to work ?
A HWH-Digha super AC Express used to run on this route with okayish occupancy.Though the VB fares will probably be higher than that.
It had good patronage on the weekends, and poor on the weekdays. Today VB will have even better patronage on the weekends and extended weekends, but I guess the weekdays will be less patronized. It is difficult to find a place in the Tamralipta Express. This route along with Howrah Haldia should be considered more for Namo Bharat Rapid.
They should be running more fast EMU/passenger trains from HWH/KGP for Digha, especially on weekends. I once had to catch a connecting passenger from Panskura to Digha and it was more saturated than a Bombay local. I think a Haldia bound EMU was also standing then, but that didn't have much crowd.
Haldia is an industrial town, I think compared to the tourist potential that Digha has.
