Ahem, 32 kph average for a train that doesn't have too much stops b/w JHS-NZM [average for that section]. Also, ironic that the train and tracks are capable of 130 kph at multiple points in that section, and still they make this drag of a TT. I have seen slow locals that stop at 30 stations b/w KGP and HWH having a faster average than this.
ehm *38kmph avg actually.. but your point still stands. almost 21hrs for 800kms is too much. 13-14 hrs would have been understandable but 20?! even some Mail/Express trains are faster than this
I was specifically seeing the average for JHS-NZM section. That doesn't have much speed restrictions yet this train is even slower on that section. I guess, "special" treatment for higher fare paying pax :p
also if you look at the coach composition it feels like a Amrit Bharat Express :P
Yes, I saw it. It does kind of represent that coach structure. Maybe, if this train is regularized in the future, they can just slap the tag of 'Amrit Bharat' onto it.

I think government really wishes to side step the main issue. They think fully air conditioning trains and forcing pax to travel in AC coaches will improve IR's image. Why would a passenger who daily lives his/her life in non AC surroundings be forced to shell so much for single journey of some hours just because IR artificially imposed limits on non AC rakes?

I am not sure if you have seen the Urban Slum dwellers who are staying in Delhi NCR. They already have AC at their homes. What is more important is the Sleeper is a loss-making proposition to IR. So IR doesnt want to promote it. Therefore if you see to tackle all this over crowding SL coaches are still not being increased but UR are being taken care.

बिल्कुल सही कहा आपने , पहले जरूरत है लोगो का स्टैंडर्ड उस लेवल पर लेकर जाया जाए जहा वो खुद डिमांड करे Facilities के लिए।
आप कह रहे है की स्लीपर घाटे का सौदा है , तो मुझे ये बताईए की क्या AC कोच रेलवे को प्रॉफिट निकलकर दे रहा है ??
और सिर्फ जनरल क्लास ही नही स्लीपर क्लास भी रेलवे बढ़ाना चालू कर रहा है पहले की तरह।

After BDTS block paschim BDTS aayegi MMCT me pm slot Khali hoga.
This train almost daily gets delayed when reaching GKP or intervening stations. Whilst the tracks have gotten more trains like crazy, development is slow.Railways is building a triple line section now , I think, b/w GD and BUW but that is it. However, the primary reason remains that this train almost daily tracks behind 15204 LJN BJU Express and mostly doesn't OT it.The latter gets some minutes late upto GKP usually which makes this train lag even more.

Railfan_SRDiv^~ 2536 blog postsIts so stupid for SCR to make Ajanta and KCG MYS depart from KCG in adjacent PF ! Ajanta leaves from PF 5 of KCG whereas KCG MYS leaves from PF 4 of KCG. I mean seriously ! They dont even use flip board concept - passengers are getting confused. One timing need to be changed in such a way that one arrives after the first one leaves the PF when they come from Yard.

To begin with no one is getting confused we the RF's have seen it as well, Ajanta departs and then Mysore gets shunted / Ajanta is ready to depart and then Mysore is taken on Platform.
Mysore comes up directly from MJF side everyday. Only Ajanta is Shunted from yard.
