I travelled in DD from SBC to MAS train is suitable for people travelling to offices with just hand luggage like laptop, backpack, small briefcase for short distances like 200-350kms. Seats are not comfortable as they are stiff without cushion and no pushback. People travelling in AC class min expect seats in buses with pushback and cushion. Legspace is ok for 5.7-6.0 ft but again no footrest. height of the cabin is less only suitable for less then 5.9ft others have to bend in lower and upper middle decks and even when getting out of the window seat we need to bend otherwise will hit luggage rack above. It may be commercially viable if it runs with 10CC (1200 seats) with avg occupancy of 75-80%. Railways should do costing analysis for such high end trains and fix fares as each coach is RS2.5Cr ( correct me If I am wrong)....

Good practical example. That's what i mean to say here to other blogger. Shatabd, DD are different.
700 km journey with a DD is really pathetic, surely it takes 12 hr 30 min with all stops. But where as Shatadi little better with 10 hrs journey with less stops. A triweekly weekend shathabdi is surely a hit between SC-VSKP.

My view is instead of Shatabdi one more intercity should be introduced between Vja-VSKP parallel to Ratnachal and janmabhoomi as intermediate stations like eluru and TDD dont have space to get inside 2S coaches and during festive times and summer holidays even its getting difficult to get into coach with reserved ticket. Everyday they are atleast 120-130 people and goes to 150-160 during festive seasons and peak muhurt days travelling in 2S coach from VJA itself and getting a seat after 545 is not possible unless ur lucky
.atleast a.c chair car comfort is there...and here all people dnt need comfort of shatabdi,instead they need confirmed seats during festive times,and in urgency....as the doubledecker would be more beneficial for the andhra people...
