even 13071/72 is called locally as super express. even its average speed is somewhat around 45

Actually, when this train was initiated, its journey time was 2 hours less than its rival 23 Up 24 Dn. That's why this name was given to this new born baby.
I think, with the upgraded tracks / increased power in engines, more or less timings of all oldies of IRs are to be rescheduled.

In its earlier avtaar, there used to be ASR-DLI Express , which got extended to DBG/JYG.It was called as Flying mail or something b/w ASR-DLI..

The original Shaheed was SF with PC and SY was ME and terminating points were DLI-MFP, Same rake was used for Flying Mail. The practice continued even after DBG extension but after few year both trains were extended up to ASR may be due to very heavy rush of Punjab bound passengers from North Bihar. And that's how FM become history. Extension to JYG came much after and can not be extended further.
