I have booked a ticket from Chennai Egmore to Trichy junction with boarding point as tambaram. I have boarded the train at Chennai Egmore. TTE objected stating that Boarding can only be done at Tambaram and he will charge different fare. I argued that already full fare is paid and Boarding point is only my option. Pls confirm whether I or TTE is correct

Of course sorry to say its your mistake. even though the charge is same. you have to board the train only from boarding point. This is ok but in case if you booked from sc and boarded at hyb then the rate will differ na. so generally they wont accept its your mistake boss.
Your explanation is incorrect dear. The said rule is beneficial for both Railways as well as the passenger. The passenger can board the train from his desired station,whereas railways gets revenue. If you wish to take benefit of the full fare,you have an option of boarding the train from the station you have booked.
Well, TTE is right, The boarding point is tambram. Means you can board the train from tambaram. If you want again change boarding after chart preparation than, Request to station master for issued the certificate from the station where you want to boarding.
