Hello Milind,
I don't you can buy a pass for Pune/CSTM.. IRCTC does not allow it. It says choose another pair. Also subarban season ticket there are only two classes First Class and Second Class. You cannot board any express train with a MSTS anyway be it SL, AC/ CC, 2AC, 3AC... you are, I THINK, not even allowed to board unreserved.. I may be wrong. But that's what IRCTC is showing. Please inform me if you have better information... anybody there who knows this?... Good wishes.

sir!
Thank you for the information. I am aware that such a pass can be baught from window (and not IRCTC website). I used to buy it earlier - when IRCTC was not there.
Then I used to take this pass to a reservation window and request a reservation for a particular travel day. Clerk would then ask me to pay reservation charges (I think Rs. 15 to 25) and give me a confirmed reservation. Then I could board that train with that day's reservation.

Hello Milind, thank you for updating me. I think you will have to try at the counter again. I don't think you can do it now because now IRCTC has taken over the reservation systems. So I cannot offer you any more now. Please try at the counter. I will also search and find out about MSTS, and try to give an answer. From what you say, even if you get a first class pass, if you want to use AC class, you will have to pay the difference, provided there is vacancy. That is the basic rule. Anyway I will check and post again. Meanwhile please also re-search (not research) and let us all know. Good wishes, and have a good day.
