The Western DFC shall mostly be on diesel traction due to less traffic projection and Eastern DFC shall be entire on Electric Traction of 2x25 KV due to high density traffic on this route. #technical #EDFC See this : click here
reason may be western dfc will be a dedicated freight corridor for import cargo & containers...to run 2 stack concors,it's compulsary not to have any OHE.
But Dhandari Kalan in Ludhiana is also one of the largest container dock under Eastern DFC. And concor keep coming there.
IR maybe planning altogether different route for double stack container.
