with the current rate of electrification people of gorakhpur will have to wait for about a year to see electric engines and improved railway services...its year 2014 and still gkp is a diesel land inspite of the fact dat 3 crore people are dependent on this station almost handles 3 lakh people daily.one of the high revenue generating station in uttar pradesh..

travel time would reduce more trains can be introduced to delhi mumbai chennai can serve an alternate route to ndls-cnb-mughalsarai-howrah route north eastern states like assam,nagaland,etc and northern bihar will be benifitted
