how do you define lean period? so many specials and premium specials running for lean period? a simple search between bangalore and howrah brought up three specials apart from two regulars and few weeklies...

many trains are run because once the zones aquire a few rakes they dont have enough yard to keep it idle...for eg,HWH NJP Yuva Exp with cramped CC never got any demand,still ER keeps on running so that for atleast 24 hrs the rake can be roaming somewhere around.if the same slot is replaced with sleeping accomodation,it could perform way better
