Ghat section and slacks between sbc-mys and bantwal to mangalore, it shld be speeded between sbc-sklr and kukke-mangalore stretch, where as it can't be speeded in ghats.
Yes it is very much possible to speed up the train. But unfortunately railway is researching how to increase the travel time..
better to say, railway is doing its best to get 100 percent Punctuality by giving huge amount of slack
