Good option! To avail the telescopic distance paper ticker, I would prefer -
1. Starting from JSG.
12834 (HWH-ADI Exp) Departing JSG at 0810 (5-Feb)and reaches BSP at 1140 Hrs (5-Feb)
2. 12823 (chattisgarh Sampark Kranti) Departing BSP at 1430Hrs (5-Feb) and reaching NZM at 0905(6-Feb)

Lot of options from NDLS like 12925/22451/12483/12715.
I would prefer 12715 (Sachkhand exp) Departing NDLS at 1230 and reaching Rajpura (RPJ) at 1613 Hrs on 6-Feb.
RPJ is 25KM from Patiala.
Drawback of this route is at both the ends one might have to take the road to get to the nearest station. Else, this looks faster and cheaper.
