Siliguri City Corporation areas falls between Darjeeling & Jalpaiguri District of West Bengal. Though the main city is in Darjeeling District. Siliguri Junction & Siliguri Town is in Darjeeling District & New Jalpaiguri being in Jalpaiguri District.
Th barricade is provided for the gap...so that danger of accident can be avoided... the actual PF is much wider than the barricaded place and the PF starts from the wider portion of PF with a little curve on the line....
and this PF hosts trains like DN Capital, HDB-SGUJ, SGUJ-BXT DEMU, KIR intercity etcc.....

If Doon Exp can arrive on PF#11 HWH with 2 GS & a SLR outside the PF then wats the prob with this PF in SGUJ?
The problem is the separation of the platform with the track which is unusual.
2/3 coaches outside the platform is understandable but a parallel gap platform with train is asking people not to get down though one has to.

If the pic reflect the extended portion which is not to be used as the original platform length9seems not in picture) is quite sufficient, then i have no concern.
