Few Days Back, I Learned That NJP-DJ Service Has Resumed.. Now I Dont Understand Why NFR Cant Plan A Service Similar To SHIVALIK EXPRESS, Which Is A Rajdhani Category Train Which Is Also An Official Connection To Shimla From Kalka . Similar Concept Can Be Implied Here In Bengal ....We ll Be Privileged To Have A SHIVALIK Type Service As Official Connection To Darjeeling Mail, Kamrup , Padatik & Kanchankannya Exp

Northern Railways have various sources of income Their originating freight loading is tremendous Comparatively earnings of NFR is very poor ..So passenger fares can'tbe heavily subsidized here...
