Dear Sir,
In the Tamil dailies, it is reported that the pantry staff have been rewarded with Rs.3000 each. Still the amount is meagre. But I feel in such cases recognition is more important than the monetary value. Railways can think of recommending them for President's Gallantry award and also offer them permanent employment/promotion in railways. That would be more rewarding than the monetary rewards.
Dhanyawad.

In TOI, Bangalore, it is stated 3000/- to be distributed among 10 members of the pantry staff.
Yes, it is a token appreciation, not to be valued in currency. They 'll get Letters of Appreciation from IRCTC.
person who gave mere rs 3000 shd be prosecuted by public litigation for bringing railways a bad name which has biggest land bank & assets in govt owned companies !! yes mera bharat mahan jahan 100 mein se 80 baimaan !!!
