Doubling of KR
there are news KR will go for Electrification. But I think before electrification, they should plan for doubling which will really benefit the route. Is in't it possible to double this line, selecting the stretches with no Tunnels first and reduce the congestion?

Patch doubling was proposed along with full electrification. But we haven't heard anything on this in the last several weeks.
It should be taken up by a team as competitive as E.Sridharan's . Withing IR framework, it would take another 15 years.
Frequent accidents mainly due to derailment. Strong indication of lack of proper maintenance (some newspaper reports hints failure from KR to implement CR safety commissioners suggestions ) and time to double to take up the overload of single track. Major route and major problem.
CR Safety Commissioner asked KR to reduce the maximum speed from 110 to 90 KMPH.
