lets share our views to make railway faster profitable and any other improvements.
1. max lhb coaches to be manufactured to make all the trains or atleast superfast trains as lhb.
2. Slacks to be removed and aggresive tt should be given to each and every train.
3. scores to be given on average speed from end to end rather than on time arrivals
...
with slacks.
4. max ac coaches to be used. to encourage people to book in ac reduce the ac ticket price( say 5-10 %) but increase the ac coaches. i believe people will not hesitate to spend out more if comfort is provided to them. many people travel in sleeper because they dont get the ticket in ac.
5. general coaches to be removed in long distance train and to be replaced either with ac chair car or 2s.
share your ideas..

To make railways profitable following points must be considered:-
1)Replacing the 2nd & 1st ac coaches in most of the trains by 3rd ac coaches..(bcoz 3rd ac is the only class which earns profit)
2)increasing the number of 3rd ac coaches in all the trains..
3) railways should run garib rath type trains...
4)
...
useless concessions and quotas should be removed...
5)railways should rent some of its property which is not in use..
6)it use be more technical so that manpower can be reduced..
7) all the routes should be electrified asap to save the cost of the expensive fuel..
8) in intercity type trains the fare should be almost equal to what the bus operators charge...
9)New research centres/factories should be made to design and manufacture the rolling stock without any foreign help to reduce the cost of buying technology from other countries..
10)Railways should sell its used locos and coaches to underdeveloped countries to make money..
11) Railways should increase its manufacturing capacity to sell the new locos and coaches to developing nations
To increase punctuality and to increase speed of trains following points must be considered:-
1) existing rake of rajdhani /shatabdis should be replaced by emu type train sets which offer great acceleration and braking...this will increase the average speed even without increasing the MPS of that particular section..
2)bypasses should be made at every big and congested station..
3)new much powerful locos such more power than the existing locos should be manufactured...
4) all the important sections should be totally fenced and level crossings should be removed by under/over bridges..
5) between a particular section there should be a section where trains can make up lost time by making third line and increasing the mps of that section like for example let us consider the bju-ndls section via bbk-mb..there should be make up section between bbk-basti where third line can be constructed so that trains can make up lost time....
6)lhbifing all the trains asap..
