LOL............... It is like appointing a FOREIGN CONSULTANT to submit a report on HOW INDIA SHOULD BECOME SELF-SUFFICIENT :)
I am not sure I agree with you here sir! The point of Make in India was to encourage foreign manufacturers to shift existing production or start new production units in India so that manufacturing industry in India can thrive. As I am sure we will all agree that when any new unit is setup, regardless of which company does it, there are many ancillary companies and local suppliers that benefit from the same. In this case, even if GE and Alstom will also benefit in terms of profits, they will generate jobs in India for Indian workers and will also generate revenue for India-based suppliers of raw materials and other input materials. Surely this is beneficial for India.
I agree with you in toto. My comment was more in jest. It is a dig at the national craze for anything PHOREN such that our politicians for instance may even go abroad on a Govt. sponsored foreign tour to study how YOGA is practised there.
That is 100% true! It is funny, and sad, to see officials of even state govts and now even municipal corporations traveling abroad to study waste management or public transport etc.. this disease has not left even poorer states untouched
