I think due to some height issues, its not possible to change starting point.
In Mumbai no problem to catch train early morning, passenger can board from TNA.

agreed. The reporter hasn't written the article properly. he cries about train not starting from TNA while conveniently ignoring the fact that it halts there.
LTT Thane has 5th and 6th line in place. So, it ia relative free compared to Dadar Thane where trains run on 3rd and 4th line which is also used by fast emu locals.
There should not be any problem with LTT. LTT Thane route is relative free if you compare with Dadar Thane where trains run on 3rd and 4th line of fast locals. Here they run on 5th and 6th line. You can also board at Thane.
Vaibhavwadi could be a good addition just like addition of Khed, Sawantwadi and Karmali where Jan Shatabdi doesn't stop.
