Child fare query:
Child's age will be 4 yrs 11 months at the time of journey.
Should I book half ticket?
Or
Showing birth certificate will be enough?

Not necessary for below 5 years. (Also for safety reasons it is better not to opt for berth. Can be adjusted in the same berth of an elder person for a night journey).
I am also thinking same. I have booked for 2A tickets.
On return journey, margin of age is 4 days for competing 5 yrs.
So for railways to consider child under half ticket, child must complete 5 yrs on date of journey , even if journey done before a day of birthday, isn't it??
