This train does not pass through any state other than Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.Malayalis need a Shatabdi Express. All states except Kerala have their own Shatabdis.
As I mentioned before,Kerala is the only state without Shatabdis.
Eventhough we have a Sampark Kranti,a Rajdhani,a Jan Shatabdi and 2 Garib Raths,we does not have any Shatabdi.2 Shatabdis are given to Tamil Nadu, both starting from Chennai Central.Extend any one of it to Kerala. This train currently stops only at Bangalore City Junction. Please extend this train to Ernakulam Junction via Mangalore,Kannur,Kozhikode,Shoranur and Thrissur.

Many shatabdis can be mentioned which had been withdrawn. A rajadhani or shatabdi doesnt denote a prestige of a route. Bangalore Rajadhani runs via Secunderabad but the better route on this strech is via Jolarpettail which is completely electrified. but going via Secunderabad is shorter. Chennai-Coimbatore and Secunderabad-Vijayawada shatabdis were withdraw due to lack of patronage and converted into regulars. IR gets majority revenue from these trains and hence will be introduced only in high demand areas. In rural and semi-urban areas it is the express and passengers that does well. Passengers yield a good demand but revenue is lesser due to the fares.
