Tunnelling....dual ducts will be the best permeanant solution.... but needs lots of determination...
Since 56665 Passenger from CAN-KGQ- BYNR in the current schedule does not have sufficient number of passengers, it is proposed to extend it both ways with slip coaches as follows:
Portion 1: VSG - RMM via BYNR, CAN, PGT, POY, MDU with both 2S & SL coaches
Portion 2: VSG - VLNK via BYNR, PGT, ED, TPJ, NGT with both 2S & SL coaches.

I had already raised grievance for starting PGT RMM old trains. But railway replied that, new stations don't have sufficient facilities and need for restoring it back will be decided, if RB feels if there is demand..
There is lot of demand... as the old trains are not yet restored, passengers are forced to take bus atleast till POY......unless they are restored the public money spent on gauge conversion will be a waste....if Express trains are introduced with no intermediate stop between PGTN & POY, this argument of insufficient facilities at station enroute wont stand any ground...22629/Mumbai Dadar (T.) - Tirunelveli SF Express now running via ED, KRR can be diverted via POY, DG that is shorter by 120 km. Atleast 2 hrs can be saved....
True!
Anyone who has travelled that stretch knows hw difficult doubling would be and it's maintenance..
N sadly there can't be any alternate routes with less gradient cos the mighty Western Ghats have to be crossed
