Hi venkat, that will be a gr8 initiative.
but with the increasing number of trains in the coming years, there will be Station jamming in VSKP considering the fact hat all trains thru VSKP has to change Loco which will take atleast 15 mins.
dont take it otherwise but if i would have been at the MP's place, i would have asked for north simachalam By-Pass station to be converted to a Fullfledged 24 bogey station with 3 platforms and easy connectivity to VSKP city.

You are perfectly right , but there was promise that DVD and Simhachalam would be equally developed , which is still not popularly materialized, the problem is that most of the people don't prefer DVD is due to non availabilty of proper transport and is poorly maintained. Any developing city cannot have single station , Banglore - SBC, YPR, Secunderabad - KCG, MAS, chennai egmore.... but these cities are vast enough for proper transportation, but in vizag it is big problem. Simhachalam is nearer to City and is more preferable than DVD. If properly developed then this issue will not arise, as passengers will be comfortable and even the reverse problem is also solved.
Regarding jam now with the current trains and infra it can accommodate more.
Recently 3 new plat forms inaugurated and automatic signal interlocking also there , so there is no problem.
For engine reversal yes 15 min it will take, but all the diverted train stopping at VZM for 15 min , actually other train stops there for 2 min only....
