The "suited booted friends" are the big shots who move by chartered/ private luxury planes & shall not travel in by bullet trains (public transport).
Introduction of Mum-Ahm Bullet train was announced/ proposed by the same person/party who are now opposing the same BT tooth and nail. Probably they never intended it and befooled the public with their big mouthed announcement or they are unable to digest the fact that the present government has successfully managed to get an almost interest free (0.1% perannum) loan with extremely lenient payment period (no payment for first 15 years and payment period of 50 years). and implement such a huge and high tech project which is currently the forte of developed nations.
It would be better for us if political parties think more about the development of the nation and hence the people, rather than political interests. They very often try to do the so called welfare of people (of particular caste, religion, region/state/constituency) at the cost of nation. This will continue unless the average Indian voter stop voting on the lines of cast, religion or region and start realizing that he/she can prosper only if our nation prosper. We should not long for or demand any kind of facilities or favours which are detrimental to national interest, this is what today's "Chandra Sekhar Azads" or "Bhagat Singhs" are supposed to do.
