I'll admit its stuffy, difficult to speak and even more difficult to read ;)
the more normally spoken form of hindi, or hindusthani as it is called lost favor in the bitterness that followed post partition as it has urdu words mixed in it. the policy/law makers back then, in their sworn hatred for our newly formed neighbours tried to ditch everything they followed and the language wise its biggest victim was the simpler form of hindi or Hindusthani that we speak.
